Foundation Fight Co. goes 3-0 at Hard Knocks Fight Night 31

Foundation Fight Co. was represented in full force in Wheeling, W. Va. at Hard Knocks Fight Night 31 this past Saturday night.

In a night that featured a mixture of boxing and MMA matches, Foundation Fight Co. endorsees Chris Goldbaugh, Josh Baker and Todd Bevan took a clean sweep in their respective bouts.

Goldbaugh once again showcased his impressive ground game in his matchup with Chad Montgomery, as he locked up the fight-ending triangle choke in the very first round.

Also showing off his incredible grappling was Josh Baker, who improved to 4-0 in his professional career with his unanimous decision victory over Brett Shoenfelt.

Baker was rocked after taking an elbow while taking Shoenfelt’s back, but he fought through the adversity and grabbed a single to safety. From there, Baker continued to work his game en route to an impressive victory which displayed his heart and determination inside the cage.

Bevan, like Baker, earned a unanimous decision victory with his stellar grappling and top control in his bout with Rhett Northcraft. Both fighters showed off their ground games in a fight that saw an abundance of scrambling and jockeying for position. Bevan possessed top control for much of the fight, though, and that led to his victory.

On the heels of these victories, we would like to extend a big shout out to Goldbaugh, Baker and Bevan who, with their victories Saturday night, showed what Foundatin Fight Co. is all about! We’re proud to have you onboard.

Big shout out to Foundation athlete Jimmy Cerra!

Foundation Fight Co. would like to give a shout out to Jimmy Cerra for his May 12 rear-naked choke victory at Helster: Ultimate Cage Fighting.

Cerra captured the featherweight title by submitting his opponent in the third round, and he did so in style, as he sported our brand spankin’ new vale tudo shorts en route to victory.

The Hobbit is going to need a bigger mantle for all the titles he’s racking up this year; in addition to the strap earned at Helster MMA, Cerra has recently added the executive no-gi Grappler’s Quest title and NAGA Chicago crowns to his budding résumé.

Be sure to catch Cerra and his Foundation gear in action on June 8 in Greensburg, PA at World Cagefighting Championship IV.

Big props to you, and we look forward to working with you in the future!

Charleston, W. Va. welcomes “Reality Cage Combat” on May 18

Mountain State fight fans, rejoice!

Just a few weeks after the NAAFS‘ “Caged Fury 17″ raided Morgantown, W. Va., the state’s capital of Charleston is firing back with its own stacked professional mixed martial arts event courtesy Butch Hiles Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.

Reality Cage Combat,” which takes place on May 18 at the Charleston Civic Center, will feature all the high-intensity action and skill MMA fans have come to love.

At the top of the card is a light heavyweight showdown between UFC veterans Brandon Lee “The Iron Lion” Hinkle and Alonzo Roane.

Each fighter is looking to get back to his respective winning way, and this will certainly result in an aggressive affair which sees each fighter laying it all on the line for victory.

Also on the card is the undefeated rising star from Huntington, W. Va., Cornelius Godfrey.

The bantamweight phenom has amassed a 5-0 professional record, capturing the Spartan Fighting Championship belt in the process.

On top of this, Godfrey is always looking to give back to the state that gave him his beginnings.

Check out what he had to say when asked what fighting for West Virginia meant to him:

It means a great deal to me. I love my state and where I’m from. We don’t have many people representing West Virginia like other states.

I want to help put West Virginia on the map for MMA and I want people to know that West Virginia can produce great fighters as well.

His loyalty extends beyond these ties to W. Va., though; Godfrey is also thankful to be sporting some (cough) pretty snazzy MMA apparel on fight day.

Representing Foundation is an honor. Foundation is not just a brand I wear when I fight, they’re family.

In addition to Godfrey, Reality Cage Combat features an abundance of dub-V bred fighters such as Wes “The Limp Noodle” Lane, Ryan Shank, and Matt Garretson, all of whom will be looking to make a bold statement for their hometown crowd.

If this isn’t enough, Reality Cage Combat will also feature special guest appearances by UFC legends Stephan “The American Psycho” Bonnar and Dan “The Beast” Severn.

For fight fans, Reality Cage Combat promises to be another step in the right direction for a state still getting its feet wet with the sport.

With absolute studs like Cornelius Godfrey and UFC vets Brandon Lee Hinkle and Sean Salmon rounding out an impressive fight card, this event is a can’t miss for those who love the devastatingly brutal art of mixed martial arts.

As always, the Foundation crew will be on hand supporting WV MMA. Be sure to stop by their booth and introduce yourself.

McKinney Wins Second Title at NFC 6

Chris McKinney of WV MMA in Beckley, WV secured his second  bantamweight title this weekend in Nelsonville, OH for the NFC promotion.  McKinney went into the Night of Champions as the underdog but bested Keith Williams by unanimous decision.  The back and forth three round battle saw both fighters in dominant positions, both striking and on the mat.  Chris utilized his superior Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to control the fight and earn the judges’ decision.
McKinney was sponsored for his third fight in just five months by Foundation Fight Co. and wore the new MMA fight shorts during the title fight.  Despite his busy schedule, he was victorious in all three bouts, improving his MMA record to 4-0.

Fans can like Foundation on Facebook to see more pictures of Chris McKinney in action, or follow on Twitter @FNDNFightCo.
